Yes. I forgot that prostate was your thing, not to be confused with "ours."

One of the stranger things about this guitar teacher is that he uses video for most of his stuff, so early era music is somewhat lacking. I've seen him latch onto some mid-late 80's stuff that I would run from. Methinks sooner or later he'll settle in a time frame that suits his purposes, but for now it's fun to watch a post Jerry bus rider digging in.

I loved how he zero'd in on Hunter; and, w all due respect to all the Forumites I've battled with over this issue, it proves (har, har, but...) that the two 1970s albums are what make it work...you don't need any acid, you don't need to hear them live--you just need to hear those two albums and Hunter's words.

Period.

IMHO (to avoid any prolonged debates).

I'd prefer a comma rather than a period. Jerry wrote all the music. It's like two faces of a coin. When folks are sitting around the camp fire they're singing with Jer.

What can I say--I over reacted...now, for something I've said for yrs: "Jerry plus Hunter = the DEAD" (don't bother to say, "but wait...Phil?" as I'll just say, "well, OK, a bit").

:)

Such an absolutist! :)

Gotta give Phil credit, otherwise they would've sounded like Dead & Co.

For me, it's kind of hard to find a stopping point but I also include the self titled Garcia LP, Ace, and perhaps Wake of the Flood as a sleeper. Not to say Workingmans and Beauty aren't enough for Hunters resume, but to flesh it out to where I saw some decline. Others can surely follow with Mars Hotel, Blues for Allah, and Terrapin...but IMO the best writing had been done. At the end of the day, they were a much better studio band than they ever gave themselves credit for.

Oh yea; I just say "those two!!!" to make a point of sorts...always viewed his solo album and much of Eur 72 as extensions of that productive time period...even Wake, in a somewhat different fashion.

Always trying to get the last word in, let me just say, IMHO.
